Medical Coding Trainer - Cardiology Specialty
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training programs for coders on Cardiology coding guidelines, documentation requirements, and payer-specific regulations.
- Train coders on accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and Modifier usage related to cardiology procedures and diagnoses.
- Vascular and interventional cardiology procedures
- Review coding errors and perform root-cause analysis to identify training needs.
- Conduct coding audits and quality reviews to improve coding accuracy and compliance.
- Develop training modules, job aids, coding scenarios, and assessment materials.
- Monitor coder performance, quality scores, productivity, and training effectiveness.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring for new hires and existing coders.
- Stay updated on annual changes to ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, NCCI edits, and payer guidelines affecting cardiology coding.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Client teams to resolve coding and documentation issues.
- Prepare and present quality reports, audit findings, and action plans to management.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS regulations, and organizational policies.
