We are seeking a skilled and passionate Medical Coder Trainer to lead training and development initiatives for aspiring and experienced medical coding professionals. This role focuses on delivering high-quality training programs, enhancing coding accuracy, and ensuring learners are well-prepared for industry standards and certifications. Based in Madurai, this full-time position is ideal for someone with hands-on coding experience who is eager to transition into or grow within a training-focused role. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing structured learning modules, conducting engaging training sessions, and evaluating trainee performance. This position requires strong subject matter expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and development within the healthcare domain.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive training sessions on medical coding concepts, guidelines, and best practices
• Design and develop training materials, modules, and assessments aligned with industry standards
• Conduct classroom and/or virtual training programs for new and existing coders
• Evaluate trainee performance through tests, assignments, and practical assessments
• Provide feedback, mentoring, and support to help trainees improve accuracy and productivity
• Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines, healthcare regulations, and certification requirements
• Assist trainees in preparing for certification exams and professional growth
• Monitor training effectiveness and continuously improve content and delivery methods
• Collaborate with internal teams to align training programs with business requirements
• Maintain training records, progress reports, and documentation
• Support onboarding and upskilling initiatives within the organization
  
  

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in medical coding or related healthcare roles
• Strong understanding of coding systems such as ICD, CPT, and HCPCS
• Prior experience in training, mentoring, or knowledge-sharing roles is highly preferred
• Passion for training and development with the ability to simplify complex concepts
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to engage and manage learners in both classroom and virtual environments
• Certification in medical coding (such as CPC or equivalent) is an advantage
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and development
• Ability to adapt training methods based on different learning needs
• Comfortable working in a structured, performance-driven environment
