Shift: US Shift (Night Shift) - 8PM to 5AM

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Coder/Senior Coder to manage the billing operations for the ASC Cardiology Surgical Center, located in Phoenix, USA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in surgical billing, ASC workflows, and payer-specific requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in AthenaHealth and NexGen, a deep understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding, and the ability to ensure timely and accurate claim submissions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately code and submit claims for ASC surgical procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and modifier guidelines.
• Verify payer rules and ensure compliance with billing regulations for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
• Manage claim submissions through portals and clearinghouses; follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly.
• Review operative and procedural notes for completeness and accuracy before billing.
• Collaborate with clinical staff and billing management to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate charge capture.
• Address denials, identify root causes, and assist with appeal preparation to improve reimbursement rates.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies and ASC billing guidelines.
• Generate and review billing and aging reports as directed by the Billing Manager.

 

Qualifications:

•  4 to 8 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 5 years in surgical or ASC billing.
• Cardiology billing experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with AthenaHealth and NexGen systems required.
• Proficiency in ASC-specific CPT/ICD-10 coding and claim submission portals.
• Excellent understanding of payer-specific billing requirements and denial management.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Certification (e.g., CPC, COC) is Mandatory.
