Job details:
Mechatronics Engineer – Robotics & Controls (Hands-on)
Location: Vadodara / Onsite
Experience: 2–4 years
Role Summary
Hands-on role to design, program, and commission robotic and industrial automation systems (gantry, conveyors, pick-and-place).
You will work directly on machines - wiring, debugging, and integrating complete systems, not just programming. The role requires strong PLC development, motion control, and real-world commissioning experience, along with the ability to troubleshoot across electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Hands-on experience with robot integration is mandatory. Ideal for engineers who enjoy building and troubleshooting real machines on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and debug PLC programs (Ladder, ST) for real machines
- Build control logic for pick-and-place, sorting, conveyors & material handling.
- Work with servo motors, drives & VFDs (wiring, parameterization & basic tuning)
- Hands-on experience with industrial robots (KUKA / ABB / Fanuc or equivalent) is REQUIRED
- Integrate and wire sensors, encoders, pneumatics & actuators
- Implement industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, RS-232/485, EtherCAT)
- Perform commissioning (FAT/SAT) & on-site troubleshooting
- Perform and validate control wiring as part of system integration (not repetitive electrician work) (single phase & control wiring)
- Handle cable routing, ferruling, labeling & system wiring
- Debug electrical + control issues directly on machines
- Work across electrical, mechanical & control systems
- Understand & troubleshoot complete system behaviour
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors in Mechatronics / Robotics / Electrical / Electronics
- 2–4 years of experience in industrial automation
- Strong PLC programming + on-machine troubleshooting
- Hands-on with motion systems (servo drives, conveyors, material handling)
- Experience in robotic systems or gantry integration (mandatory)
- Ability to read electrical schematics & work with control panels
- Experience in on-site commissioning (FAT/SAT)
- Understanding of industrial sensors (photoelectric, proximity, encoders)
- Exposure to machine building / system assembly
Good to Have
- Robotics & vision systems exposure
- MES / SCADA / data integration
- AutoCAD panel design
Who Should Apply
- Engineers who enjoy working on actual machines, not just laptops
- Diploma-only profiles without automation experience will not be considered
- Comfortable getting hands dirty with wiring, tools, and debugging
- Interested in robotics and real-world automation systems
