Mechanical validation Engineer - Mid Level (4 - 7 Years)

Job Summary
We are looking for a Testing & Validation Engineer to verify and validate mechanical products from prototype to production. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, documenting, and analyzing mechanical tests to ensure products meet functional, reliability, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
The role requires close collaboration with Mechanical Design ,production, and Quality teams to improve product performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans and validation protocols based on product requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Execute mechanical, functional, environmental, and reliability tests on prototypes and production samples.
- Validate product performance against design specifications and engineering requirements.
- Conduct structural, load, vibration, drop, shock, thermal, ingress protection (IP), and life-cycle testing.
- Set up, operate, and maintain testing equipment and fixtures to ensure accurate and repeatable test results.
- Record, analyze, and interpret test data, preparing detailed validation reports with observations and conclusions.
- Verify the effectiveness of design improvements through re-testing and validation.
- Support Design Verification (DV), Product Validation (PV), and production qualification activities.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Design, Electronics, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams during product development.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
- Develop and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), test methods, and validation documentation.
- Work with external laboratories for certification and compliance testing when required.
- Participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA discussions, and design validation meetings to provide testing insights.
- Ensure all testing activities are completed within project timelines while maintaining high standards of accuracy, traceability, and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance product reliability, testing efficiency, and validation processes.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong knowledge of mechanical testing and validation techniques.
- Experience with functional, environmental, and reliability testing.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with testing equipment and measurement tools.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding and sheet metal fabrication.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Testing & Validation Engineer.
- Prior experience working in an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) environment is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of OEM testing and validation standards, processes, and best practices for mechanical components and products.
- Experience in validating products from prototype development through production release.
- Familiarity with preparing test plans, executing validation activities, and documenting test results in accordance with OEM quality standards.
