Job Purpose
To maintain, repair, and ensure the smooth functioning of all sewing machines and related garment machinery, minimizing machine breakdowns and production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair industrial sewing machines and related equipment.
- Strong practical knowledge of sewing machinery is mandatory.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine breakdowns and technical issues.
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance of sewing machines.
- Adjust machine timing, tension, stitch quality, and other settings.
- Ensure machines are properly set and ready for production.
- Attend breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain records of machine repairs, breakdowns, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with Production and Operators to resolve machine-related issues.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, spare parts, and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in the maintenance area.
Required Skills
- Mandatory hands-on experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of different sewing machines and their mechanisms.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
- Knowledge of machine setting, timing, tension, and stitch adjustment.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under production pressure.
Qualification & Experience
Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in garment/sewing machine maintenance preferred.
Key Requirement: Strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience in industrial sewing machinery maintenance and repair is essential for this position.
