Role Objective
We are seeking a highly skilled and disciplined Mechanical Project manager to lead the Renovation & Modernization (R&MU) of a 70MW Pelton Wheel Unit. The ideal candidate must possess deep technical expertise in high-head turbine systems and have a proven track record of managing site operations independently, ensuring precision in assembly and adherence to strict project timelines.
- Key ResponsibilitiesIndependent Site Management: Act as the primary point of contact at the site, managing technical teams, labor, and resources without constant supervision.
- Technical Execution: Lead the dismantling, overhauling, and precision assembly of:
- Pelton Turbine: Runner installation, bucket inspection, and nozzle/spear adjustment.
- Distributor Assembly: Critical alignment and pressure testing of the distributor pipework.
- Generator: Stator/Rotor overhauling and bearing inspections/clearances.
- MIV (Main Inlet Valve): Maintenance of spherical/butterfly valves and seal replacements.
- Auxiliaries: Servicing of the Oil Pressure Unit (OPU), Governing systems, and Cooling Water systems.
- Quality & Precision: Ensure all clearances and alignments meet international hydropower standards and OEM specifications.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict workplace safety protocols (HIRA/JSA) and ensure zero-incident execution.
- Reporting: Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), material consumption logs, and coordinate directly with the Project Manager and client representatives.
- Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience specifically in the R&MU or Erection of Pelton Wheel hydro machines.
- Core Competencies:
- Expertise in Distributor Assembly and high-pressure hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in reading complex engineering drawings and tolerance charts.
- Strong leadership skills to manage a site workforce of 20+ personnel.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues on-site under pressure.
- Joining: Preference will be given to immediate joiners.
