Job Title: Mechanical Product Engineer (VAVE / Sustenance / QnR)
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 1 3 Years
Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Product Engineer to support Productivity, Quality & Reliability (QnR), Sustenance Engineering, and Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives for HVAC products. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical product design, structural engineering, prototyping, testing, and engineering validation. Candidates with HVAC product development, competitor benchmarking, and VAVE project execution experience will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute Productivity, Sustenance Engineering, and Quality & Reliability (QnR) projects.
- Independently execute VAVE projects from project scoping through implementation and closure.
- Perform competitor benchmarking, product teardown, should-cost analysis, and idea generation activities.
- Participate in complete product development lifecycle including:
- Concept Generation
- Design & Development
- Engineering Calculations
- Prototyping
- Design Reviews
- Design Verification Testing (DVT)
- Product Validation
- Pilot Production
- Product Launch Support
- Design structural and load-bearing mechanical components.
- Perform engineering calculations including Strength of Materials (SOM), structural analysis, and hand calculations.
- Collaborate with Advanced Engineering teams by providing inputs for FEA and CFD simulations and interpreting CAE reports.
- Conduct engineering risk assessments and support design validation activities.
- Develop DFMEA, DVP, validation plans, and test plans.
- Work closely with global cross-functional teams to execute projects aligned with Product Development Processes.
- Apply structured engineering problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage assigned engineering projects from initiation through successful completion with minimal supervision.
Required Technical Skills - 1 3 years of experience in Mechanical Product Design or Product Engineering.
- Experience in VAVE (Value Analysis & Value Engineering) project execution.
- Strong understanding of:
- Strength of Materials (SOM)
- Structural Design
- Hand Calculations
- Hands-on experience in:
- DFMEA
- DVP/DVP&R
- Test Plan Development
- Prototyping & Product Testing
- Experience designing structural/load-bearing mechanical components.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including:
- Sheet Metal
- Plastic Components
- Castings
- Machined Components
- Understanding of engineering materials and basic electrical systems.
- Familiarity with FEA and CFD concepts and ability to interpret CAE reports.
- Basic project management experience from project initiation to closure.
Preferred Skills - HVAC product development experience.
- Competitor Benchmarking and Product Teardown experience.
- Should Cost Analysis experience.
- Exposure to Productivity Engineering and Sustenance projects.
- Experience using Creo / Pro-Engineer including:
- Part Modeling
- Assembly (Top-Down & Bottom-Up)
- Sheet Metal
- Drawing Modules
- Knowledge of Product Development Processes (PDP).
