We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Package Engineer to manage the design, procurement, and integration of mechanical equipment packages for offshore windfarm projects. The role requires expertise in European directives, Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), and CE marking compliance, ensuring that all mechanical systems meet regulatory, safety, and performance standards in demanding offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities for mechanical equipment packages (e.g., hydraulic systems, cooling systems, compressors, pumps, piping, HVAC, and auxiliary mechanical systems).
- Ensure compliance with European codes, PED, CE marking, and offshore certification standards (DNV, IEC, EN).
- Develop and review technical specifications, datasheets, and design documentation for mechanical packages.
- Coordinate with suppliers, fabricators, and certification bodies to ensure compliance with PED and CE requirements.
- Oversee package integration into offshore wind structures (turbines, substations, foundations).
- Support risk assessments, FMEA, and mechanical safety analyses.
- Manage interface requirements between mechanical packages and electrical/control systems.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Drive continuous improvement in mechanical package design, reliability, and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Strong knowledge of European codes, PED, CE marking, and offshore certification standards.
- Minimum [X] years of mechanical engineering experience in offshore wind, oil & gas, or heavy marine industries.
- Experience in mechanical package design, procurement, and integration.
- Familiarity with offshore construction standards (e.g., DNV-ST-0126, IEC 61400).
- Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS).
