Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role based in Barmer. The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment used in power generation, ensuring high availability and reliability. Daily activities include conducting inspections, diagnosing faults, coordinating repairs, and supporting shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities. The role involves planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules, maintaining records in the maintenance management system, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The engineer will collaborate with operations, electrical, and instrumentation teams, supervise contractors when required, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Maintenance and Maintenance Engineering for power plant or heavy industrial equipment.
- Hands-on experience in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair of rotating and static mechanical assets.
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and monitor Preventive Maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce unplanned outages.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of power plant systems, safety standards, and relevant industry codes and practices.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and OEM documentation.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team on-site.
- Willingness to work in shifts, support emergency maintenance, and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
