Role Description The Mechanical Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position based at the company’s facility in Gorakhpur. The Mechanical Machinist will operate and maintain machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines to produce and repair mechanical components used in chemical plant equipment. Daily responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, setting up workpieces, selecting appropriate tools, and measuring finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and safety standards. The role involves performing routine maintenance on machines, identifying mechanical issues, and collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams to support plant reliability. The Mechanical Machinist is expected to follow all safety procedures, maintain accurate records of work performed, and contribute to continuous improvement in machining and equipment maintenance practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess core mechanical skills, including operation of conventional machine tools (lathe, milling, drilling, grinding) and basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies.
- Candidates should possess strong technical interpretation skills, including reading and understanding engineering drawings, tolerances, and technical specifications.
- Candidates should possess measurement and quality-related skills, such as using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and following quality inspection procedures.
- Candidates should possess safety and maintenance-oriented skills, including adherence to industrial safety standards and routine machine maintenance practices.
- Relevant qualifications such as an ITI, diploma, or certificate in Mechanical, Fitter, Machinist, or a related trade are highly beneficial.
- Prior experience in an industrial or chemical plant environment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and working in shift operations is an advantage.
- Candidates should possess good communication skills, the ability to work in a team, and a disciplined approach to documentation and reporting.
