Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled
Mechanical Fitter responsible for the assembly, inspection, maintenance, and handling of tools and fixtures. The role involves supporting tooling operations, resolving production-related issues, and assisting in fabrication tasks to ensure smooth internal manufacturing and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble tools and fixtures as per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct first inspection of tools upon arrival at the facility.
- Handle tools safely and manage internal movement and storage.
- Diagnose, fix, and resolve tooling-related production issues.
- Perform tooling care, maintenance, and proper storage to ensure longevity.
- Maintain and manage tooling hardware and accessories.
- Track and report tool damages and repairs during operations, handling, and storage.
- Maintain an updated stock list of tools and fixtures, categorized project-wise.
- Support fabrication tasks such as welding, machining, and painting for internal tool manufacturing.
- Perform dimensional inspections using hand-held inspection tools and measuring instruments.
- Maintain accurate documentation and daily reports of tasks, repairs, and activities.
- Follow workplace safety standards and quality procedures.
- Be flexible to work in shift-based working hours.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and perform precise assembly.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling operations.
- Hands-on experience with welding and basic fabrication techniques.
- Proficiency in dimensional inspection and use of measuring tools (vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to identify and resolve mechanical and tooling issues effectively.
- Good documentation and reporting skills for daily work activities.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI in Mechanical / Fitter trade (Minimum requirement).
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role.
- Experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, and fabrication work is required.
Work Conditions
- Willingness to work in shift-based schedules.
- Ability to perform hands-on mechanical and fabrication tasks in a manufacturing environment.
