About the Role
We are an additive manufacturing service bureau looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team on-site. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the design, development, testing, and improvement of 3D printing systems and related mechanical components. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on exposure to CAD, prototyping, assembly, and product validation in an additive manufacturing environment.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers and technicians, gaining real-world experience across the full product lifecycle—from concept to printed part.
What You'll Do
Assist in designing and modeling mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software (Fusion 360, or similar)
Prepare and optimize 3D models for printing (FDM, SLA, SLS, or metal AM processes)
Support build setup, slicing, and print parameter tuning across various additive technologies
Help with post-processing tasks including support removal, surface finishing, and part inspection
Conduct dimensional and functional validation of printed parts against specifications
Assist in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting 3D printers and related equipment
Document test results, design iterations, and process improvements
Collaborate with the engineering team on prototyping and R&D projects
What We're Looking For
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Working knowledge of CAD software ( Fusion 360, or equivalent)
Familiarity with 3D printing technologies and additive manufacturing concepts
Understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and basic manufacturing principles
Hands-on mindset with strong attention to detail
Good problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work on-site full-time for the duration of the internship
