Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Energy Simulation & Compliance

Role Summary
We are seeking a driven and technically proficient Mechanical Engineer with specialised
expertise in energy simulation and building performance compliance to join our growing
engineering team. This mid-level role is central to client's commitment to delivering green
building certification (LEED, WELL, Green Mark), energy-efficient buildings and
advancing Singapore's sustainability agenda. The successful candidate will lead and
support building energy modelling, compliance documentation, and performance
analysis across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Energy Simulation & Building Performance
• Develop and manage Building Energy Models (BEM) using industry tools such as
IES-VE, EnergyPlus, eQUEST, or DesignBuilder across various building types.
• Conduct thermal comfort, daylight, solar, and energy performance analysis to inform
and optimise M&E system design.
• Perform parametric simulations to evaluate passive and active design strategies,
including HVAC system optimisation, envelope performance, and renewable energy
integration.
• Analyse energy consumption data, identify inefficiencies, and recommend evidence-
based measures to achieve energy reduction targets.
Energy Audit
• Assist in basic energy audits and site assessments to identify efficiency
opportunities.
• Collect and analyze utility data to understand consumption patterns.
• Support preparation of audit reports with key findings and recommendations.
• Coordinate with teams/clients to gather required data and documentation.
Green Mark & Regulatory Compliance
• Prepare and coordinate green building certifications, global and local to Singapore
• Ensure compliance with Singapore regulations
• Stay current with updates to Singapore's Green Building Masterplan, carbon
reporting requirements, and upcoming legislation changes.
M&E Systems Design Support
• Support the review of HVAC, mechanical ventilation, and plumbing systems with
energy performance as a key design driver.
• Collaborate with electrical and structural engineers, architects, and project managers
to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Review and comment on M&E shop drawings, equipment schedules, and vendor
submittals for energy compliance.
Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management
• Manage multiple concurrent simulation and compliance workstreams, ensuring
timely delivery within project milestones.
• Prepare technical reports, energy performance certificates, and executive-level
presentations for clients and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a
closely related discipline from a recognized university.

Experience
• 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in M&E consultancy, building energy
simulation, or sustainability consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience with green building certifications is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with BEM tools
Technical Skills
• Strong grounding in HVAC system fundamentals, thermodynamics, and heat
transfer principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with data analysis tools (Python,
Excel VBA, or similar) is a plus.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and translate them into
accurate simulation inputs.
