About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices at a client’s manufacturing facility in Hosakote, Bengaluru.
The selected candidate will work closely with shop-floor teams, supervisors, engineers, and management to identify process improvement opportunities and implement practical Lean solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on the shop floor, solving operational problems, and driving measurable improvements in productivity, quality, flow, and workplace organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts across production and operational areas.
- Study existing processes and identify waste, bottlenecks, delays, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist in implementing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Visual Management, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, SMED, Kanban, and Waste Elimination.
- Conduct shop-floor observations, time studies, process mapping, and data collection.
- Work closely with production employees and supervisors to implement improvement actions.
- Support workplace organisation, productivity improvement, process flow, and inventory-reduction initiatives.
- Track the progress and effectiveness of implemented Lean actions.
- Prepare improvement reports, action trackers, presentations, and project documentation.
- Conduct basic awareness sessions and guide shop-floor teams in following Lean practices.
- Ensure that improvements are practical, sustainable, and aligned with operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–6 years of experience in manufacturing, production, industrial engineering, process improvement, or a related role.
- Basic knowledge or awareness of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Willingness to work extensively on the manufacturing shop floor.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with operators, supervisors, engineers, and management.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and report preparation.
Preferred Skills
- Formal training or certification in Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma.
- Exposure to 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, TPM, SMED, Kanban, or Line Balancing.
- Experience in implementing improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to take ownership and independently follow up on assigned actions.

Compensation
A competitive salary with a potential 30–50% increase over the candidate’s current compensation, depending on experience, skills, current CTC, and suitability for the role.
