Role Description
This is an internship role for a Mechanical Engineer, located in Bengaluru with hybrid work flexibility, allowing some tasks to be completed remotely. The intern will engage in tasks including mechanical system design, the development of machine components, CAD modeling, and technical documentation. Collaboration with the research and development team will be key to improving designs, addressing technical challenges, and supporting project management initiatives.
This position may require, Working on:
- Design the UAV airframe from scratch based on high-level mission and size requirements.
- Develop the external geometry with a focus on minimizing aerodynamic drag.
- Perform CFD analysis to estimate drag coefficient (Cd) and understand flow behavior.
- Iterate the design to reduce drag while maintaining aerodynamic stability and performance.
- Perform FEA to validate structural strength, stiffness, and load paths of the airframe.
- Balance aerodynamic efficiency with weight, manufacturability, and structural constraints.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles and Machine Design
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and techniques
- Skills in Project Management, such as planning and executing tasks effectively
- Familiarity with Research and Development (R&D) in mechanical systems
- Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude for mechanical analysis
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Enthusiasm for innovation and learning in cutting-edge robotics technologies
