The Role
This is a full-ownership, advanced mechanical engineering role. You will lead the development of advanced
security screening, imaging and electro-mechanical systems.
You will not only design and innovate products, you will help to build systems, processes and engineering
culture.
What You'll Work On
• Systems with high-speed rotation of large assemblies.
• Systems with rigid rotation of electronics assemblies.
• Systems with precise, self-aligned, electronic and other assemblies.
• Outer covers, conveying systems and other electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Sheet metalwork and plastic mouldings.
• Precision bearing and drive mechanisms.
• Sub-system integration including power transmission systems and safety control systems.
• Prototype to production pipelines with rapid iteration.
• Cross-functional product development programs across software, AI, mechanical and electrical.
What You'll Do
Engineering and System Ownership
• Lead mechanical design and implementation.
• Deliver FEA analysis for stress, vibration, tolerances and center of gravity.
• Produce high quality sheet metal designs with great aesthetics and finish.
• Undertake detailed engineering analysis (tolerances, vibration, fatigue, bearings).
• Deliver prototype assembly, system bring up and debugging.
Project Execution
• Lead requirements, program planning and execution.
• Balance manufacturing cost, complexity and timeline to meet program goals.
• Participate in regular management reviews.
• Work closely with other hardware, software and AI teams.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
• Mentor and guide reporting engineers through hand-on leadership.
• Conduct design and technology reviews.
• Support hiring and help scale a strong product engineering team.
What We're Looking For
• 8-12 years experience in design and delivering mechanical products.
• Strong expertise in 3D Modelling and FEA.
• Strong expertise in 3D Modelling for sheet metal and plastic moulded parts.
• Proven experience in electro-mechanical product design and integration.
