Job Description – Mechanical Engineer
Location – Navi Mumbai
Job Type – Full Time
Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with relevant experience in Piping, Process Engineering, Oil & Gas, Tank Farms, Fire Fighting Systems and Project Consultancy. The candidate will be responsible for engineering, design, calculations, estimation and preparation of project documentation for Oil & Gas, Marine, Terminal and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineering of piping systems, process systems and mechanical facilities for Oil & Gas and Marine projects.
- Preparation and review of PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, piping layouts, equipment layouts and technical specifications.
- Carry out piping hydraulic/line sizing calculations, pump sizing and fire water demand/hydraulic calculations.
- Design/review of firefighting systems including hydrants, monitors, sprinklers, deluge systems and fire water networks as per OISD, NFPA and applicable IS standards.
- Provide engineering inputs for storage tanks, tank farms, hydrocarbon handling and product transfer systems, with knowledge of applicable API/ASME standards.
- Working knowledge of OISD, API, ASME, NFPA and relevant IS codes & standards related to piping, tanks and Oil & Gas facilities.
- Prepare BOQ, BOM, MTO, quantity take-offs, technical specifications and cost estimates.
- Prepare and review CAPEX/OPEX estimates and financial assessment for projects.
- Prepare and provide technical inputs for TEFR, Feasibility Studies and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
- Review vendor quotations, prepare technical/commercial bid evaluations and support procurement activities.
- Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Process Engineering teams for multidisciplinary project execution.
- Provide mechanical and piping engineering inputs for Marine Terminals, Ports, Jetties, Tank Farms and Liquid Cargo Facilities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical/Piping Engineering, preferably in Oil & Gas, EPC, Consultancy, Marine, Port or Terminal projects.
- Strong knowledge of Piping Design & Engineering and Process Engineering.
- Knowledge of API 650/API 620, ASME B31.3/B31.4/B31.8, and relevant IS standards.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, documentation and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
Preferred Profile
Candidates with experience in Oil & Gas terminals, piping networks, marine facilities and EPC/consultancy projects will be preferred.
