Job Description
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the manufacturing and installation of industrial Cooling Towers and associated components. The role requires coordination with the production team, vendors, and site engineers to ensure high-quality design and execution. This is a HYBRID job setup.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Prepare 2D and 3D mechanical designs for Cooling Towers and related equipment.
- Develop engineering drawings, layouts, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Modify and improve existing designs based on project requirements and site conditions.
- Assist in the selection and sizing of mechanical components used in Cooling Tower Systems.
Manufacturing & Quality
- Visit the factory for design validation, production coordination, and quality inspection.
- Ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing and installation.
- Support the production team in resolving fabrication or assembly issues.
Installation & Project Support
- Coordinate with project teams for installation and commissioning of Cooling Towers.
- Travel to domestic and international project sites for installation supervision or technical support when required.
- Provide technical support to customers and installation teams.
Documentation & Coordination
- Prepare BOMs & QAPs, design documents, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement and fabrication teams for timely project execution.
- Maintain design documentation and revision control.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D mechanical design software (AutoCAD / SolidWorks or similar)
- Understanding of fabrication drawings and mechanical assemblies
- Basic knowledge of Cooling Tower Systems or industrial equipment design (preferred)
- Ability to coordinate with manufacturing, vendors, and site teams
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design or industrial equipment design
- Comfortable with factory visits and quality inspections
- Willing to travel internationally for installation and commissioning
- Valid Passport is mandatory
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred
- Experience in Cooling Towers, HVAC equipment, or industrial machinery design
- Exposure to manufacturing environments and site installations
