Job Description
Role Objective:
Support mechanical solutioning, costing, and documentation of NIDO’s automation systems – including conveyors, lifts, structures, and material flow systems. Ensure standardized designs, BOMs, and ERP accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret customer requirements and convert them into conceptual 2D/3D layouts using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Design mechanical solutions for automation systems including conveyors, sorters, lifts, racking, and workstations.
- Generate accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and cost estimates.
- Standardize designs and create templates/modules for repeat projects.
- Interact with China-based OEMs for component selection and specification alignment.
- Coordinate with Purchase for vendor specs, lead times, and alternate sourcing.
- Ensure all mechanical parts and assemblies are correctly updated in ERP (item codes, BOM, costing).
- Support senior solutioning engineer in responding to RFPs and customer queries.
You Should Have
- 2–4 years of mechanical design or pre-sales experience in automation or capital equipment.
- Strong AutoCAD & SolidWorks skills.
- Good understanding of conveyor systems, mechanical assemblies, and costing.
- Exposure to ERP workflows (item/BOM entry).
- Willingness to coordinate across internal teams and external vendors.
