Job Location: POR Industrial Estate, Vadodara, Gujarat
Job Summary:
The Mechanical & Electrical Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical panels, including mechanical fabrication, electrical components, wiring, bus-bar, accessories, and overall project costing. The candidate should coordinate with design, purchase, production, and sales teams for techno-commercial costing and quotation preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Costing
Prepare costing for electrical panels such as Marshalling box, RTCC Panel, FCC Panels & control panels.
Calculate BOM (Bill of Material) based on GA drawing and schematic.
Estimate cost of switchgear, busbar, wiring, terminals, relays, meters, CT/PT, and accessories.
Prepare cable and control wiring estimation.
Coordinate with suppliers for component prices and updates.
Mechanical Costing
Prepare fabrication costing for panel enclosure and structure.
Calculate sheet metal weight, copper/aluminium busbar weight, and hardware requirements.
Estimate powder coating, painting, gasketing, and assembly cost.
Calculate labour cost for fabrication and assembly activities.
Review mechanical drawings for accurate material estimation.
Commercial & Estimation Activities
Prepare techno-commercial quotations.
Maintain costing sheets and standard costing database.
Analyze cost reduction opportunities.
Compare actual vs estimated project cost.
Coordinate with purchase department for latest material pricing.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of electrical panel manufacturing.
Understanding of electrical schematic and GA drawings.
Knowledge of switchgear and panel components.
MS Excel proficiency.
ERP/software knowledge preferred.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Strong analytical and calculation ability.
Qualification:
Diploma / BE in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
2 to 5 years experience in electrical panel industry costing/estimation.
Preferred Industry Experience:
Panel Manufacturing
Control Panel Manufacturing
M.box +RTCC
Salary:
