Job Summary


We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Manager to lead our engineering team in designing and developing heavy-duty Open Die hot Forging Presses (hydraulic) and integrated of manipulators with press. The successful candidate will oversee the entire design lifecycle—from conceptualization, FEA analysis, and detailed engineering to manufacturing support. This role requires deep expertise in heavy machine design, fatigue analysis, ensuring all products are designed for maximum reliability and structural integrity. Integration of hydraulic system of press with mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership: Lead the mechanical design team in creating high-capacity open die forging presses to be operated along with rail-bound or floor-bound manipulators, working in sync with forging systems.
  • Engineering Analysis: Perform and verify complex engineering calculations, including stress analysis, fatigue calculation, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on critical components like tie rods, cylinders, and crossheads and critical structures.
  • Hydraulic Systems knowledge: Oversee the design of advanced hydraulic systems (high-pressure, large-volume) and servo-controlled actuators.
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with international safety standards (e.g., Machinery Directive) and internal quality standards.
  • Manufacturing & Assembly Support: Provide technical documentation (BOMs, GA drawings) and support the shop floor, procurement, and assembly teams to ensure precise manufacturing of large castings.
  • Project Management: Manage design budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time project completion.
  • Mentorship: Mentor senior designers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in heavy machinery design, specifically with industrial hydraulic presses, forging presses, or heavy-duty steel fabrication.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Autocad, 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) and FEA simulation tools (ANSYS).
  • Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of mechanical systems of open die forging presses, material properties, and GD&T principles. Should be able to integrate hydraulic system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in designing open die hot forging die tools or automation equipment.
  • Experience with PLC control interface with hydraulic components.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership capabilities to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Problem-solver with a proactive approach to addressing design-related manufacturing challenges.
