Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid Mechanical Design Engineer – Product Development role based in Kochi, Kerala. The selected candidate will design and develop mechanical systems for robotics, industrial automation, and custom machinery, taking products from concept through to production.
Responsibilities
- Convert concepts and functional requirements into complete mechanical designs for robotics, automation systems, industrial machinery, and custom products.
- Design mechanisms, assemblies, structures, and enclosures while preparing 3D CAD models, manufacturing and assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Select standard mechanical components (motors, gearboxes, bearings, linear guides, actuators, etc.) supported by engineering calculations, and apply Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles.
- Build, assemble, test, and optimize prototypes while coordinating with suppliers, fabrication partners, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Maintain engineering documentation, design revisions, and version control throughout the product development lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1+ years of relevant experience preferred; exceptional fresh graduates with strong projects will also be considered.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or an equivalent professional 3D CAD platform.
- Good knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, laser cutting, 3D printing, GD&T, engineering drawings, component selection, and engineering calculations with the ability to visualize and design complete mechanical systems.
