The Opportunity
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks expertise and hands-on experience in fabrication design. You will work on real engineering projects for manufacturing clients, developing designs that move beyond CAD models into successful production.
This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving practical engineering challenges, understand manufacturing processes, and take ownership of delivering high-quality engineering documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems, fabricated assemblies, and industrial equipment using SolidWorks.
- Develop sheet metal, weldment, and structural fabrication models and assemblies.
- Produce accurate manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and fabrication documentation.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve quality, cost, and manufacturability.
- Review existing designs and implement engineering improvements.
- Collaborate with internal engineers and clients to deliver technically sound solutions while meeting project schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
- Expert level proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Demonstrated experience designing:
Sheet Metal Components
Weldments
Mechanical Assemblies
Fabricated Structures
- Strong experience creating manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Good understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience designing products that have been manufactured commercially.
- Experience working with international clients or manufacturing organizations.
