Kuhltherm is a deep-tech startup founded in 2025 in Ahmedabad, building advanced liquid cooling solutions for data centers, AI infrastructure, and high-performance computing. Our products—such as Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHx)—enable energy-efficient, high-density computing for global customers.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own the end-to-end mechanical design of liquid cooling products. The role involves concept design, simulation, prototyping, testing, and production release, working closely with cross-functional teams.
This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and offers high ownership in a fast-growing startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems for CDUs, RDHx, and advanced cooling solutions
- Perform detailed 3D modelling and 2D drawings using CAD tools
- Apply heat transfer and fluid dynamics principles to liquid cooling designs
- Design piping, hose routing, sensor integration, and sheet metal assemblies
- Support prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and testing activities
- Perform simulations (thermal / flow / mechanical) to validate designs
- Prepare engineering documentation, BOMs, and design reports
- Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, vendors, and customers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering in Data center / SPM Building
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools
- Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS, Celsius EC, MacroFlow (or similar)
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing
- Knowledge of piping design, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
- Good understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer
- Experience with prototyping and testing of thermal/mechanical systems
