Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Purandhar. The engineer will design and develop mechanical components and systems for automation equipment, conveyors, welding fixtures, material handling solutions, and related machinery. Daily tasks include creating 3D models and detailed drawings, preparing BOMs, collaborating with cross-functional teams for system integration, and optimizing designs for manufacturability, safety, and reliability. The role involves reviewing customer requirements, supporting prototyping and testing, and making design revisions based on performance data and feedback. The engineer will also work closely with production and installation teams to ensure smooth fabrication, assembly, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
Qualifications
- Mechanical design and drafting skills, including proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) and 2D drawing tools.
- Experience designing mechanical systems for industrial automation, robots, fixtures, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerances, GD&T, and selection of materials and standard mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and customer requirements, and convert them into functional designs.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0/4.1 concepts, industrial standards, and safety guidelines relevant to automation and robotics.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail in evaluating design feasibility and performance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams in design, production, and commissioning.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; prior experience in industrial automation or robotics is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Purandhar, manage multiple projects, and meet timelines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
