Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for conveyor solutions and special purpose machines. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed CAD models and drawings, performing design calculations, selecting materials and components, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and performance. The role involves reviewing customer requirements, preparing design documentation, supporting prototyping and testing, and providing technical input during installation and commissioning. The engineer will also work on continuous improvement of existing designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices. This is a full-time remote role.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply mechanical principles to industrial automation systems.
- Proficiency in Design Engineering and Machine Design, including structural and mechanism design for conveyor systems and SPMs.
- Experience in Product Design, focusing on practical, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Hands-on expertise with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for 3D modeling and detailed drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design, production, and project teams.
- Experience in industrial automation, material handling equipment, or machine building is an advantage.
