Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer – Modular Electrical Enclosures

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in designing modular electrical enclosures for systems such as PCC, MCC, 11kV & 33kV panels, and VCB panels. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and standardization of enclosure systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Design and develop modular enclosure systems for:
o PCC (Power Control Center)
o MCC (Motor Control Center)
o 11kV / 33kV Panels
o VCB Panels
· Create GA (General Arrangement) and fabrication drawings
· Develop and maintain standard design libraries (busbars, mounting, supports, doors, partitions)
· Optimize designs for:
o Laser cutting
o Bending
o Welding
o Powder coating process
· Ensure compliance with IEC standards and industry best practices
· Work closely with production team to ensure design-to-manufacturing feasibility
· Reduce material wastage and improve cost efficiency through smart design
· Support automation of drawings (AutoCAD / DXF / Excel integration)
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering
· 3–5 years of experience in electrical panel / enclosure design
· Strong knowledge of:
o Sheet metal design
o Fabrication processes
o Modular enclosure systems
· Proficiency in:
o AutoCAD (2D is mandatory, 3D is a plus)
o SolidWorks / Inventor (preferred)
· Experience in busbar layout and panel internal arrangements
· Understanding of IP protection, thermal considerations, and structural strength
· Knowledge of laser cutting & CNC bending constraints
Preferred Experience
· Experience working with leading panel standards (ABB, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
· Exposure to design automation / parametric design
· Knowledge of ERP/BOM systems
