Key Responsibilities
Please list the most important and relevant responsibilities
Product - component/Parts Assembly drafting & designing (CAD Models), Tolerance stack up detailed 2D Drawings, Manufacturing Specifications, and assembly documentation for Mechanical design solutions.
Required calculations for Mechanical design of parts and assemblies.
Validation of design of new products or product enhancements by completing various analysis such as DFMEA & Design for Manufacturing / Assembly studies
Work with the electromagnetic, structural EFA and thermal CFD teams to ensure all virtual testings to meet requirements
Mechanical Design of parts & assemblies of Electric EV motors, considering structural/thermal aspect.
Design of suitable transmission systems such as belt drives, planetary gear box & gear boxes required for reduction of speed as per application torque and speed requirement at both system and component level.
Willing to perform basic structural/ Thermal analysis of Electric motors and Gear Box.
Performing Benchmarking of various motors (BLDC/ PMSM/ Axial flux & induction)
Necessary document preparation such as design reports, FMEA, Bill of Material, Change Notice etc
BOM Making in SAP/PLM/ WIndchill
Education & Professional Qualification
BE Mechanical/ Production,
Min 5 Years to 8 Years of experience in Electric motor industry for mechanical Design & Development activities (Preferred EV Application Motors & Drive train)
Excellent knowledge & Experience various CAD tools - AutoCAD, Creo-Parametric, ProE, Ansys
2D drawings, 3D modelling using various CAD tools
Understanding/ Application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ASMEY 14.5
Fundamental understanding of structural/ Durability, fluid flow & thermal simulation methods
Good understanding of various motor technologies (Induction, BLDC, PMSM, Axial flux, SRM)
Experience in CFD analysis at the motor/ Vehicle level for cooling requirements
Proven experience in drive train design such as belt drives, planetary gear box & gear boxes required for the reduction of speed as per application torque and speed requirement.
Knowledge of SAP/PLM system
Product & material life cycle of design & process, Change management process knowledge
Motor standards, Automotive standards & various motor validation tests.
Sound knowledge of various part & motor manufacturing processes
Prior experience in electric scooter or electric vehicle Drive train development will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
