JOB SUMMARY
This position encompasses CAD design responsibilities with hands-on mechanical engineering execution. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of thermal components such as heat sinks, heat pipes, enclosures, and integrated assemblies using SolidWorks. In addition, they will coordinate with machining and fabrication vendors to get these parts manufactured and assembled.
The role is positioned at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and engineering application. The selected engineer will work closely with the company’s thermal consultant and will be involved in both customer-driven projects and internal R&D efforts.
Prior experience in electronics cooling or thermal management is not mandatory. However, the candidate must demonstrate a strong grasp of mechanical fundamentals and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to thermal systems and practical manufacturing workflows.
Technical Knowledge Required:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drafting, and configurations)
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles and GD&T
- Familiarity with standard manufacturing processes: CNC machining, sheet metal, brazing, etc.
- Ability to read and create engineering drawings
- Basic understanding of materials and tolerances relevant to precision components

Areas of Responsibility:
Design & Drafting:
- Create and modify CAD models and 2D drawings for thermal products and assemblies
- Incorporate design changes based on thermal consultant's guidance and application needs
- Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings with appropriate tolerances
Vendor Coordination & Manufacturing Support:
- Liaise with external vendors for manufacturing, fabrication, and finishing of parts
- Track part delivery, quality issues, and take corrective actions if needed
- Participate in part inspection and assembly trials
Thermal Projects & R&D Support:
- Work with the internal thermal consultant and design team to convert concepts into manufacturable products
- Support internal R&D efforts involving design, fabrication, testing, and validation
- Get exposed to and gradually take ownership of mechanical aspects of thermal solutions for electronics
