About the Role
The Mechanical BIM Modeler will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical systems, including HVAC, Clean Rooms, Gas, Water & Chemical systems, Process piping, Plumbing, Fire Protections, WWTPL, ZLD, STP, ETP, etc. The Mechanical BIM Modeler will collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy, constructability, and adherence to project standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D Model for all Industrial buildings & Infrastructure
- Develop detailed and accurate 3D models of mechanical systems (HVAC, Piping, plumbing, fire protection) using Revit or other relevant BIM software
- Develop and maintain families for mechanical equipment, piping, ductwork, and other components.
- Create and manage piping families, including parametric components (valves, fittings, equipment connections) ensuring proper sizing, pressure ratings, and material specifications
- Model complex piping systems, including routing, supports, and insulation, taking into account pressure drops, flow rates, and thermal expansion.
- Perform detailed clash detection, specifically focusing on pipe routing conflicts with other building systems (structural, architectural, electrical) and resolve those conflicts
- Review vendor submittals and integrate equipment models into the BIM models.
- Extraction of quality 2D drawings from the BIM model
- Responsible for develop 2D drawings from 3D Model
- Prepare and generate detailed construction drawings, sections, elevations, schedules, and other relevant documentation from the BIM model.
- Responsible for 3D Model Coordination & Quality
- Ensure models are consistent with project standards, design criteria, local codes and standards, and adhere to company BIM protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to incorporate design changes and ensure model accuracy.
- Conduct clash detection analysis to identify and resolve conflicts between structural, civil, architectural, and MEP systems.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., architects, MEP engineers) to integrate models and ensure project coordination.
- Assist in quantity takeoffs and material estimations.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and software advancements related to BIM and structural engineering.
Required Skills
