Job Title: Automotive Parts Counter Representative
Job Summary
The Parts Counter Representative acts as the primary point of contact for customers and technicians seeking vehicle parts. You will be responsible for identifying the correct components, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: Assist retail and wholesale customers via phone, email, or in person to identify and sell manufacturer parts and accessories.
- Technical Assistance: Work closely with service technicians to provide the necessary parts for vehicle repairs, ensuring accuracy to avoid project delays.
- Inventory Management: Stock incoming inventory, organize bins, and perform regular audits to maintain an accurate and orderly department.
- Order Processing: Utilize electronic parts catalogs to source out-of-stock items and submit emergency orders when necessary.
- Sales & Pricing: Accurately price parts, generate invoices, and collect payments while identifying opportunities for additional sales.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a dealership parts department or automotive repair is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic parts catalogs and dealership management systems (DMS).
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of automotive systems and component terminology.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 hour plus commission.
