- Reorient the business line toward key-account management, including account plans, relationship maps, revenue targets, retention strategies, and executive-level client engagement.
- Increase revenue by identifying growth opportunities within existing client relationships, expanding scopes, supporting renewals, and creating repeatable pathways from advisory work to follow-on engagements.
- Drive cross-selling across MDEA service lines by connecting energy-efficiency clients with complementary offerings in procurement, advisory, financing, implementation support, and broader energy strategy.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the team around commercial judgment, client service, account ownership, proposal discipline, and consistent delivery of business value.
- Partner with delivery resources and subject-matter experts to translate client needs into practical solutions, clear scopes, compelling proposals, and executive-ready recommendations.
- Translate energy-efficiency opportunities into business value, including cost reduction, risk management, operating improvement, sustainability progress, capital planning, and financial decision support.
- Represent the firm as a commercial advisor in client and partner settings, delivering concise, credible, business-focused guidance that strengthens relationships and opens new revenue opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience growing a consulting, advisory, energy-services, facilities, sustainability, or related business line with measurable revenue impact.
- Strong key-account management skills, including the ability to build relationships with large energy users, executive stakeholders, procurement leaders, finance teams, and facilities decision-makers.
- Demonstrated ability to expand existing accounts, identify new opportunities, support proposals, improve win rates, and move clients from one-time projects to recurring relationships.
- Demonstrated success leading teams, improving accountability, developing talent, and creating scalable operating practices in a client-facing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executive, procurement, financial, facilities, sustainability, and operations stakeholders.
- Strong judgment, ownership, financial acumen, and operating discipline in a client-facing consulting, advisory, or professional-services environment.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience building, standardizing, or scaling a repeatable service line, account-growth model, or client-success function.
- Experience serving large commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, higher-education, public-sector, or portfolio-based energy users.
- Track record of converting client insight into commercial outcomes, proposals, renewals, cross-sell opportunities, and client-facing recommendations that drive action.
Leadership and Performance Expectations
- Reposition the energy-efficiency business line around priority accounts, large energy users, revenue growth, and recurring client value.
- Build a disciplined key-account operating cadence, including account plans, revenue goals, pipeline reviews, relationship mapping, and renewal strategies.
- Institutionalize business development, proposal, pricing, handoff, and client-success practices that improve consistency, scalability, and commercial performance.
- Increase team leverage through coaching, delegation, process discipline, and stronger coordination between business development, account management, and delivery.
- Produce executive-ready client outputs that strengthen confidence, support decision-making, and create clear paths to expanded scopes and recurring revenue.
