Communicable Disease Program Coordinator – Full Time #032  

 

STARTING SALARY: $79,938.00 per year, exempt position.           

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week.  Also requires some night and weekend on-call.

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Communicable Disease Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, directing, supervising and financial management of the Communicable Disease, TB, STD and personnel within the Nursing Division of the McHenry County Department of Health. Additionally, the Program Coordinator represents the interests of the Department through community involvement and interaction.          

JOB FUNCTION: Plans, manages, directs, monitors, and evaluates the administrative and client service functions of the assigned programs. Supervises, trains and evaluates program staff.  Serves as a resource person to the Director of Nursing and health department staff. Supervises communicable disease surveillance and investigation following the Center for Disease Control and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines and rules and regulations. Provides communicable disease education to other health professionals and community organizations.          

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current and active license as a Registered Nurse. Nursing Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Nursing or Science or a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration. Public Health experience preferred.  Have a current and active Registered Nursing License. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
