Position Overview
The Contractor Yard Associate and Delivery Driver role is a seasonal position designed to provide critical assistance to our field operations and contracting yard management. This individual will split their time between general contracting yard duties and dedicated support for the tennis court construction crews. This role is ideal for a hardworking, organized individual who enjoys a variety of tasks ranging from inventory management and delivery driving.
Key Responsibilities
Contractor Yard Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, locked, and secure shop and yard environment at all times.
- Manage yard organization and track inventory levels.
- Accept, verify, and properly store incoming deliveries.
- Perform equipment and tool maintenance, ensuring all items are clean and functional. Training will be provided.
- Oversee truck organization and prep to ensure crews are ready for daily operations.
Tennis Court Construction Crew Field Support
- Provide dedicated delivery support to the tennis crew construction crew for their construction materials in the St. Louis metro area.
- Deliver materials safely to job sites with an F-450 and a trailer.
- Manage material mixing and staging for upcoming jobs.
- Operate various pieces of equipment such as forklifts and other equipment as needed.
- Assist with other contractor yard and field duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Safety & Accountability
- Ensure safety is prioritized in all aspects of work and follow company safety policies.
- Lead by example and promote a culture of accountability and teamwork.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must get CDL Class A Driver’s License within three months of starting
- McConnell & Associates will provide training to acquire a CDL A driver’s license.
- Relatively clean motor vehicle record
- Applicants with drug or alcohol driving offenses in the last five years will not be considered
- Other violations evaluated per insurance standards
- Ability to work 40–60 hours per week, including Saturdays
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor in varying outdoor weather conditions
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive wages - Starting pay may increase with verifiable experience
- Starting Pay is $22/hr. without a CDL
- $23/hr. with a CDL B
- $25/hr. with a CDL A
