Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant I will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Maintains the subledger for fixed assets and prepares depreciation/amortization and other fixed asset schedules.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned.
- Prepare monthly journal entries for month-end closings.
- Assist with the general accounts payable function.
- Perform credit card reconciliations and receipt matching.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs other general accounting and department projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
- At least one year of related experience required.
- Attention to details.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, SAP Concur, and Intuit QuickBooks Online is a
