Role Description The MBBS Junior Consultant will provide patient-centered sexual health care, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and follow-up for individuals seeking STI testing and treatment. Responsibilities include conducting detailed medical histories and physical examinations, prescribing appropriate investigations, interpreting test results, and recommending evidence-based treatment plans in line with clinical protocols. The consultant will offer non-judgmental, confidential guidance on sexual health, safe practices, and preventive care, while coordinating closely with laboratory teams and counselors to ensure seamless patient experience. Documentation of consultations, maintenance of accurate medical records, and adherence to quality and privacy standards are essential parts of the role. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru.
Qualifications
- Possession of an MBBS degree from a recognized institution and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Clinical skills in history-taking, physical examination, diagnosis, and management of common sexual health conditions and STIs.
- Strong communication and counseling abilities, including capacity to discuss sensitive topics with empathy, clarity, and respect.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, non-discriminatory care, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards in healthcare.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including laboratory staff, counselors, and administrative personnel.
- Comfort working with digital health records and basic medical software; prior experience in telehealth or sexual health is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and local languages commonly spoken in Bengaluru is preferred, along with willingness to work flexible clinic hours as needed.
