About the role

Description

Primary role is to lead the NTM shipping team ensuring safety of everyone that works in and visits the manufacturing operation, ensures that all products are shipped to specification and that daily production requirements are met; to meet these requirements the shipping Manager works closely with all members of the NTM manufacturing team, other cross-functional departments internal and external to the team.

Requirements

 

Education 

A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Industrial Engineering or related discipline is preferred; in the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in a management role in a manufacturing facility, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement

 

Experience & Skills

  • At least 3 years of production management or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks and determine effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and tracking and trending organizational metrics
  • Ability to identify cost savings strategies and implement promptly and effectively
  • Must be a team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
  • Must be highly reliable, trustworthy, honest, and commitment oriented
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to handle multi-task
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify

Summary

 

Job Duties

  • Plan, direct and coordinate all daily aspects of production operations
  • Supervise and support Asst. Shipping Manager and Shipping Leads
  • Responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiencies and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies
  • Review production schedules, process flow, data, and activities
  • Ensure that all products are shipped in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in accordance with industry specifications and NTM quality requirements
  • Ensure and maintain employees’ safety and environmental concerns
  • With demonstrated leadership skills, use performance management to evaluate staff/employees, quarterly, yearly and in real time for course correction
  • Focus on workflow while balancing many factors including production time, labor requirement, course of action, product quality optimization, removing obstacles, using technology, ERP system, all other tools, and resources
  • Performs other duties as assigned
