MAYDAY is excited to be partnering with a leading insurance provider to recruit multiple Property Claims Consultants for an initial 3–6 month temporary assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals through difficult situations such as fires, flooding, and general property damage. As a Claims Consultant, you'll be at the frontline of customer care—handling claims with empathy, professionalism, and a strong focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. What's in it for you: Location: Sydney CBD office, next to public transport, cafes and restaurants. Rates: $39.20 per hour + Super. Duration: 3–6-month temporary assignment with the view to go permanent. Hours: Full-time, 8.30am – 5.30pm (37.5 hrs per week). Duties: Manage a portfolio of claims, with the workload determined by volume. Handle a large volume of customer phone calls in a fast-paced environment. Oversee general insurance claims, including property and motor, from initiation to resolution. Work closely with builders in the claims process. Address and manage confrontational situations effectively. Make confident and informed decisions regarding claims. Draft and issue denial letters when necessary. Resolve conflicts that may arise during the claims process. Make determinations on the outcome of each claim. Address and overcome objections from various stakeholders. Handle claims involving significant losses such as homes, fires, flooding, and lost property with sensitivity and empathy. About you: Ability to provide patience, empathy and understanding to each customer's situation. Previous experience in a phone-based customer service role. Insurance or financial services experience is highly desired. Ability to manage customers in stressful situations. Tech-savvy with a quick grasp of new systems.
