Mathematics Researcher (Masters/PhDs) - AI Training
About The Role
What if your expertise in advanced mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons through the world's most complex problems? We're looking for Mathematics Researchers to design, solve, and evaluate challenging mathematical problems that train cutting-edge AI models to think more rigorously and accurately.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for mathematicians who want to put their graduate-level expertise to work on something genuinely impactful. No prior AI experience needed — just deep mathematical knowledge and a commitment to precision.

What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and critically review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance
- Apply your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related areas to design complex, rigorous problem statements
- Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning for correctness, depth, and clarity
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to strengthen model performance
- Ensure mathematical rigor, precision, and thoroughness across all deliverables
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
- Deep expertise in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
- Comfortable working in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or problem-solving
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with a systematic, rigorous approach to mathematical work
- Clear and precise written communicator — you can explain complex ideas without losing accuracy
- Currently based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
- Background in applied mathematics, mathematical modeling, or computational research
- Experience writing or reviewing mathematical content for academic or educational purposes
- Familiarity with AI tools or machine learning concepts
