Material Science Specialist (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your deep expertise in materials science could directly shape how AI reasons through some of the most complex problems in modern science? We're looking for Materials Science specialists — Masters and PhD holders — to work with leading AI research teams, helping build and refine AI models that can think rigorously about semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, and beyond.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI experience needed — just command of your field, a sharp analytical mind, and a passion for scientific precision.

What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and critically review advanced materials science problems with real-world relevance
- Apply deep expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related specialisms to design complex, high-quality problem sets
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance AI model reasoning and scientific accuracy
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for rigor, clarity, and depth
- Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of scientific quality
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Master's or PhD in Materials Science or a closely related discipline
- Strong expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or adjacent research areas
- Comfortable coding in Python or MATLAB for research or analytical tasks
- Exceptionally clear written communicator — you can explain complex science without losing precision
- Detail-oriented and methodical, with a natural drive for scientific accuracy
- Fluent in English
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
- Background in applied research, industry R&D, or academic publication
- Familiarity with AI tools or scientific evaluation platforms
