Job Summary
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking of food for day’s business by completing food preparation and other related tasks provided by Lead Supervisor. Must be able to upholding safety and sanitation policies, lift at least 50 lbs. and stand on feet for long periods of time. Prior experience in kitchen and food prep is required.
Required
- Experience with soups and sauce making
- Basic knife skills
- Basic vegetable preparation and meat fabrication
Preferred
- Classical culinary training
- Excellent knife skills
Rotating Schedule
Days:
Spring/Summer
- Work: Sunday through Thursday
- Off: Friday & Saturday
Fall/Winter
- Work: Saturday through Wednesday
- Off: Thursday & Friday
Hours:
Varies, depending on operating hours and business demand
Shift start at 6:00 am to phase
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, and assembling entrees
- Ensure that prepped food upholds quality standards and is in the requested quantity
- Ensure that items for service are prepared safely and correctly
- Perform proper food portioning and minimize waste
- Maintain sanitation standards by providing proper care, cleaning, and storage of equipment/utensils
- Sweep and mops floors
- Provide trash removal
- Assist in setting-up kitchen for opening and/or breaking down kitchen at closing
- Other duties as assigned by management
