Student Trainee - Facilities

About the Department

PUD 3 is looking to fill student positions in our Facilities Department to work full-time over the summer and potential part-time work during the school year.

Position Duties

• Landscaping
  1. Mowing
  2. String trimming (weed eating)
  3. Weeding
  4. Trimming shrubbery
  5. Clearing leaves and debris
  6. Spreading beauty bark, gravel, etc.
• Assistance with cleaning, window washing, general office maintenance
• Transport vehicles as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Some experience working outdoors or performing physical labor preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, management and customers
• Ability to follow direction and stay on task while completing assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment.  
• Regular and reliable attendance, with the ability to report to work on time and ready to begin assigned tasks.

Other Qualifications

Physical Demand & Work Environment 

• Use of landscaping equipment
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as raking, digging, and debris removal
• Occasional work near roadways
• Ability to traverse various types of terrain a regular basis
• Work is primarily performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
