Position Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Assistant will develop leadership, collaboration, and communication skills while supporting the mission, vision, and values of the Maryville University Speech-Language Pathology Program. The Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Assistant will report to the Speech-Language Pathology Student Worker Supervisor (Christine Krekow) and Program Director (Meaghan Goodman).
Position Requirements:
- Coordination of scheduling both clients and students for observation, assisting, and provision of services in the residential and online Maryville University Speech-Language Hearing Clinics
- Maintain and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Maryville University Speech & Hearing Clinics
- Work in conjunction with the Clinical Coordinators to create and implement the mission of the Speech Language Pathology Program
- Assist in the University Clinics with the selection, procurement, of evaluation and treatment materials
- Manage, create, update and assist with electronic medical record systems information and training
- Maintain confidential record keeping for both clients and students
- Assist with training and supervision of student employee in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program.
- Complete special projects essential to the accomplishments of the Speech Language Pathology Program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must be accepted and enrolled in the residential Speech-Language Pathology master's degree program at Maryville University
- Clinical experience preferred
- Strong commitment to ethnic and cultural diversity
- Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
- Critical reflection as a practitioner
- Ethical conduct in academic, research and clinical endeavors
- High level of competency in the use of technology to accomplish the above goals
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Stipend for the academic year: $1000
