About the role

About the Position: 

 

The Center for Student Engagement and Belonging (CSEB) at Maryville University is looking for a creative and dependable Graphic Design Assistant to join our team. As part of a collaborative group of student designers, you’ll work 10 hours/week to create digital signage, logos, t-shirt designs, and more. This role provides hands-on experience in crafting visual content that supports student life initiatives, sharpens your communication skills, and helps enhance a dynamic and vibrant campus community. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Handle a caseload of 3-8+ clients at a time 
  • Create digital signage, logos, t-shirt designs, and more using Adobe suite products 
  • Communicate project updates and deadlines with clients (i.e., student organizations, and departments) in a timely and professional manner 
  • Utilize the CSEB's graphic design workspace effectively 
  • Attend and participate in weekly CSEB Graphic Designer committee meetings and critiques to collaboratively brainstorm, improve designs, and learn new skills 
  • Prioritize and meet deadlines for multiple cases at a time 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design skills (digital preferred). 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Proficient in Canva 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. 
  • Collaborative spirit and passion for student life initiatives. 

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Must be a current full-time undergraduate student at Maryville University 
  • Must be Federal Work-Study eligible or be approved for Institutional Work-Study and available to work during the 2026 spring semester from January 12-May 3, 2026.  
  • Available to work 10 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm). 

 

Compensation: 

  • Hourly pay rate: $15.00 

 

Performance and Evaluation: 

  • Regular performance feedback will be provided, along with a formal evaluation.
