About the role

Mary's Woods is looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The Human Resources Assistant plays an important role in supporting the Human Resources team and contributing to a positive employee experience. This position serves as a first point of contact for employee questions and provides support across employee lifecycle processes, recordkeeping, compliance activities, and day-to-day HR functions to help ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient operations. 

This internal position is only available to current employees. 

Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience, and skills needed to be successful:

  • Act as the first line of response for employee inquiries, ensuring timely and professional resolution or escalation.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, recommended best practice, and established policies and procedures.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes, including background checks, new hire orientation and documentation, terminations and exit interviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Stays current on trends, best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files while supporting compliance with recordkeeping requirements, assist with audits and required reporting, and support employee status changes and HR operations through processing personnel actions, data entry, routine report generation, and employment verification responses.
  • Partner closely with the Human Resources team to ensure smooth daily operations and provide back-up support.

Education and Experience Required:

  • One year of human resources or administrative/office coordination experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage compliance reporting and handle employee inquiries with professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort working with various technology platforms.
  • Experience providing administrative support in healthcare, nonprofit, or senior living environments preferred.

    Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
