Position Overview

The Porter / Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of The Brinkley and The Edge, residential apartment communities in Charlotte. This role focuses on common area cleaning, amenity upkeep, light grounds support, and janitorial services to ensure a welcoming environment for residents and guests.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain interior common areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, and amenity spaces
• Perform routine housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces
• Maintain cleanliness of community amenities including fitness centers, clubrooms, mailrooms, and other shared spaces
• Empty interior and exterior trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste
• Service pet waste stations, including waste removal and restocking supplies
• Conduct daily walks of the property to remove litter and debris around building entrances, sidewalks, and common exterior areas
• Assist with light grounds-related duties such as blowing sidewalks, cleaning entryways, and maintaining curb appeal
• Use and maintain janitorial and light grounds equipment safely and properly
• Identify and report maintenance issues, cleanliness concerns, or safety hazards
• Maintain organized janitorial closets, supplies, and equipment
• Comply with company policies, including Fair Housing regulations and safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned to support community operations

• Maintain common areas and amenities at a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and within established schedules
• Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy when interacting with residents, guests, and team members
• Proactively identify and communicate cleanliness, maintenance, or safety concerns

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, porter, or related work
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Preferred:

• Experience in residential, multifamily, hospitality, or property management environments
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays

Physical & Work Environment

This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and use of cleaning equipment. The role involves indoor and outdoor work and may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying weather conditions.
