Account Manager

We are currently in search of a Account Manager to join our Sales department of the Marquardt Group in our location Rochester Hills (USA).

The Automotive Account Manager is responsible for managing current business from a sales perspective as well as developing new business opportunities. Disciplinary reporting to the Key Account Manager. The Account Manager will work across customers with defined product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing business for assigned customers
  • Identify new opportunities to provide products and services to existing customers
  • Identify and communicate customer product and technology requirements to appropriate Marquardt personnel. Voice of Customer
  • Respond to requests for quotes, providing detailed price quotes on prospective business opportunities
  • Active participation during the organizational goals for yearly sales for assigned OEM(s) and associated Tiers
  • Execute strategic plans to ensure long-term growth in both existing and potential new markets
  • Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers, including key personnel in engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and purchasing
  • Achieve assigned sales, account development, and other targets
  • Develop and maintain various strategic growth metrics
  • Monitors and assure timely delivery of prototype samples
  • Generates annual cost saving/cost sharing proposals to the customer in order to meet the productivity goals stated in the customer contracts
  • Engineering changes coordination
  • Negotiate and track pricing changes

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering
  • 3+ years' experience in components/systems sales for Stellantis, including their customer portal (esupplierconnect)
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Nice to have: J/K OEM experience
  • Computer skills, including the use of Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP and customer sales portals
  • Thorough understanding of Human-Machine Interface, Lighting and related mechatronic products
  • Advanced verbal communication skills, including group presentation, negotiation, and influencing
  • Advanced management skills, including planning and organization, decision-making, problem solving, and project management
  • Advanced knowledge of sales and closing techniques
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, distributors, sales representatives, managers, and the general public

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and planning
