COBOT WELDER / COBOT WELDING OPERATOR (MIG)

Marksman Metals Co. Inc. has recently expanded our welding department with a cobot welder, a robotic welder, and multiple welding booths. We are looking for an experienced Cobot Welder to join the team. We are a family-owned precision sheet metal contract manufacturer operating in an ultra-clean, 111,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art, air-conditioned facility. Summary
As a Cobot Welding Operator, you will program, set up, troubleshoot, and monitor the cobot to deliver consistent weld quality and efficient throughput. This role requires hands-on welding/fabrication experience and a strong understanding of weld quality standards. MIG experience is preferred, with work on light-gauge, close-tolerance sheet metal (mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel). You will perform setups, position the robot arm, adjust welding parameters, load/unload parts, and use a handheld pendant to teach positions, verify safe operation, and troubleshoot issues.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- · Program, set up, and operate the cobot/robotic welding cell to meet quality and productivity targets
- · Use a teach pendant to establish and adjust weld paths, positions, and sequences
- · Set and adjust welding parameters (as needed) and verify weld quality on parts
- · Load and unload parts; stage materials and fixtures to support efficient flow
- · Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues; work with the team to implement fixes
- · Follow safety standards and ensure the cobot cell is operated safely at all times
Qualifications
- · Welding and fabrication experience, with the ability to identify acceptable weld quality
- · MIG welding experience preferred (light-gauge, close-tolerance sheet metal)
- · Experience operating, setting up, or programming a welding cobot/robot (preferred); willing to train the right candidate with strong welding background
- · Comfortable using a teach pendant/handheld controller and following work instructions
- · Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- · Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and ability to work well in a team environment
Summary
Shift
1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am to 3:30/4:30pm. Ample opportunity for overtime.
Salary and Benefits
Pay: $20-$35/hour (flexibility to go outside this range).
