Marketplace Pricing & Strategy Lead
Role Overview
We are looking for a Marketplace Pricing & Strategy Lead to drive pricing strategy, revenue optimization, and data-led decision making across our marketplace. This role will own the pricing engine, improve unit economics, and unlock growth through experimentation and deep analytical insights.
You will work closely with Product, Supply, Demand, and Operations teams to ensure our pricing is competitive, scalable, and aligned with market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pricing Strategy & Optimization
- Design and manage dynamic pricing models for used electronic devices
- Analyze price elasticity and optimize for conversion, margin, and inventory velocity
- Monitor and respond to market trends, competitor pricing, and demand shifts
- Identify margin leakages and drive corrective actions
- Partner with Product & Engineering to build and scale pricing engines
2. Reporting and Insights
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks
- Translate complex data into clear business insights and actions
- Analyze funnel performance from device listing to deal completion
- Contribute to development of decision-support tools and internal platforms
3. Marketplace Optimization
- Improve supply-demand matching and liquidity
- Work on inventory-aware pricing (aging, stock levels, demand signals)
- Develop strategies for B2B pricing models
4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Mentor and guide analysts within the team
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Business, Ops, Sales)
- Influence strategic decisions using data-backed insights
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python/R
- Solid understanding of statistics, experimentation, and data modelling
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
Experience
- 8-10 years of experience in analytics, pricing, or revenue optimization roles
- Proven experience building or managing pricing models or strategies
- Strong grasp of price elasticity, demand forecasting, and margin optimization
- Experience in marketplaces, e-commerce, or B2B platforms preferred
- Ability to translate data into business strategy
- Strong problem-solving and structured thinking
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Good to Have
- Prior experience in marketplace pricing, especially in two-sided platforms (B2B or B2C)
- Hands-on experience in dynamic pricing, auction-based pricing, or pricing engines
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment, with ability to operate in ambiguity and build from scratch
- Experience with real-time or near real-time pricing systems
